Aarynn Bernard was born and raised in East Chicago, IN. Her educational career began at St. Mary’s elementary in East Chicago. She then attended Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, IN for high school. She chose to attend Indiana State University where she majored in General studies with a African american studies and dance minor. While at ISU Aarynn became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc. and was a member of the ISU Sparkettes dance team. She has had to opportunity to be a performer from the age of 3. She has been classically trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, ballet folklorico, african dance and numerous other forms of dance. She is a professional choreographer and director. Mrs. Bernard had the opportunity to direct/choreograph 400 dancers in a version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” for his celebration of life for Refuge productions in Munster, IN. She has worked with various theatre companies throughout her professional career and is overjoyed that she has been able to share her experiences with the 21st Century community for 13 years.
