21st Century Charter School recently hosted “Learning At Home,” an elementary school event for families to share tips on educational activities we can do at home to prevent the “summer slide,” when students forget some of what they learned at school the previous year.
We shared tips on how to use objects or toys we already have at home and turn them into learning activities. We had legos, play dough, shaving cream, playing cards, math BINGO, inference BINGO, and educational websites. We raffled off books and a Joe Bot (an inflatable roboto control robot).
We also had our Buy One Get One Free Scholastic book fair open for parents to stock up on for summer reading! Be sure to join us at the next event!
